'It's the little things': Kilkenny Gardaí host unique visitors at their Garda station

It's not every day that a Robin decides to set up shop in a Garda station, but clearly she knew it was a safe space and will now be the most protected nest in town!

A mere few weeks ago, Gardaí in Callan, Co Kilkenny, came into the station to find that some surprising visitors had made themselves rightly at home. 
Members of the Gardaí came across not just a beautiful little Robin but also a nest full of eggs located in their building between the women's toilet window and the bars, as the old cells were converted into bathrooms.
Taking to social media to share the good news, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána joked that this is "a type of Robin we can get behind."
Upon making the discovery of these "uninvited guests," the Gardaí swung into action. 
 
Continuing, the spokesperson said,  "So what was required was an impromptu roster to be set up to monitor and care for the visitors. The lads were delighted when eggs became hatchlings and are still enjoying the company. 
"Sometimes it's the little things. PS. Photos were taken through glass of the toilet where they were spotted. No disturbing took place, hence the thriving hatchlings," they joyfully concluded. 
It's not every day that a Robin decides to set up shop in a Garda station, but clearly she knew it was a safe space and will now be the most protected nest in town!
