ONE of Limerick’s best known educational institutions, HSI Business School, has ceased operations.
Established by Nora McNamara in 1951, HSI has been the one of the leading independent training providers in Munster for the past 60 years. During that time over 80,000 students have passed through its corridors on O`Connell Avenue.
In a statement confirming the closure, HSI says management had been working up to the end of last week on a survival plan to protect employment and to sustain the provision of courses at HSI.
A liquidator is expected to be appointed at a creditors meeting which will be held within the next fortnight.
Management at HSI are working with Griffith College to accommodate students who are continuing their studies or who have applied for courses due to begin this Autumn.
A hotline has been set up to facilitate students, which they can access on 061- 310031 and 061-317822.
